#NolaBaby!

Heeeeyyyy yall!!! I hope everyone enjoyed their 4th of July. I definitely enjoyed mine, I went to New Orleans. My first time ever being there, I went to attend the essence festival but it didn't quite work out that way lol. I planned this trip in February I believe and yes I went alone. I know right how can you go some where alone that's so social. Well darling those are actually the best solo trips, no one is paying attention to you. You blend in and even if someone notices you, they might think you just need alone time and might even use that as an opportunity to approach you.  Only person who know you're alone is you.   Take advantage of that, you can either do what the fuck you want or be caught up in the mix, whatever flows ya boat. Me personally I like to people watch, trust me its more entertaining than TV but I do try to interact with people as much as I can.  Most of the time the interaction occurs in uber rides, at bars, and restaurants. In New Orleans 90 percent of my connections happened in uber rides which was the best because it wasn't tourist it was people who've lived in New Orleans most of their lives. The first day there  on my way to my airbnb me and my uber driver connected even exchanged numbers.  Aside from that tho, you gotta be brave and confident, not going to lie going out when those type of crowds are around just to eat or do whatever can be intimidating. Especially  if you're the type to dress up funky like me, you draw attention. People notice you, which can be a good or bad thing depending on who you are and how you're feeling.  On the other hand it can be your time to shine and steal the show. But enough about that, New Orleans was lit, beyond lit. Probably more lit than Vegas.

As I mentioned above, my initial plan was to come and go to essence fest and take that as an opportunity to view the city but that didn't happen. For one I never have an agenda I just go and blow whichever way the wind blows me. This was my first essence fest and the days that were listed were July 5th - 8th and I didn't know July 5th was just a welcome date. Not much goes on, on that day so I only had one real day and that was that Friday. It worked out perfectly though, because this festival brings out flocks of people. It was already busy because of the 4th and the music festival added fuel to the flame. To be totally honest with you, I would probably never attend all 3 days, It's kinda not worth it to me. Next time I'll pick the day with the people I want to see and attend then party around the city the rest of my stay. However,  I ended up not going to the concert because it was a hassle to get last minute tickets (wait) lol and I was tired by 6pm, my last night I just went to my airbnb and chilled.  The convention center was dope though, so many people, food, businesses, and advice. I honestly didn't know what to do first or which way to go. Visiting the convention center is definitaly an all day thing, if you're anything like me. Even if you're not anything like me, the lines are long as shit for almost everything, I think I waited 2 hours for food so um yea.

Nevertheless, this city is such a gem, I loved everything about it ... well probably not the food.  I know y'all probably like "girl you tripping". Well I'm not big on eating crawfish and things of that nature. I just really wanted bomb ass soul food. Whiicccchhh I played myself on because I didn't go to Willie Mae's chicken spot which is like their best chicken spot I believe.  BUT no love lost because I will definitely be back. If I can find a job I'll probably move there lol.  I know too much too soon but listen besides the city being great the people just gave me such a good vibe and the men...... Child the men, those accents and those beards got me every single time. Got me feeling like drake " KEKE do you love me!!".   I'm a complete mess, I know but I'm working on that. Anyway, New Orleans is a really dope place to go and visit besides the turn up, there is so much history. Which I'm pretty sure a lot of y'all know about, so if you haven't, check it out and go see the city.  Attend one of their Many festivals if you will, Essence is probably their biggest but they have many others.  Below you can check out some of my New Orleans fashion and a lil taste of what I seen. I know I need someone to take my pictures, I'm in the process now of finding my Jay-Z. Wish me luck because this dating shit sucks.
